In its Decision 4/2012, the Article 29 Working Group has interpreted that cookies used only to allow communication between the user’s device and the internet are among those exempted from complying with the obligations established in Article 22.2 of the Information Society Services Act. This also applies to those used strictly to provide a service expressly requested by the user. The above-mentioned exemption covers the following types of cookie:

– User security cookies (for example those used to detect erroneous and repeated attempts to connect to a website)
– Multimedia reproduction session cookies
– Load balancing session cookies
– User interface personalisation cookies
– Plug-in cookies for exchanging social content
Session and user entry cookies are used only to trace user actions in filling in online forms on various pages or in shopping baskets to monitor the items the user has selected by pressing a button. If the acceptance of cookies strictly necessary for providing particular services expressly requested by the user is disabled, they will not be able to consult or correctly receive the content and services of www.marinabadalona.cat
