The Badalona Traditional Fishing Base (BPAB) at Badalona Port is a facility on Moll de Quimet Costa adapted to the situation of the industry in order to meet the operational needs of the city’s fishing community. It has the technology and controls required to guarantee direct consumption.
This facility has been the headquarters of the local fishing association since November 2010 and face-to-face public auctions began again there in January 2011. It resolved a historical demand from the city’s fishing community following a participatory negotiation process between Badalona City Council, Marina de Badalona, the Catalan Directorate General of Fisheries and the fishing community of Badalona, who now have decent facilities for earning their living. Activities at the Base are carried out in two key areas.
